The father of the hydrogen bomb, Dr. Edward Teller
graciously volunteered his time and vast scientific
knowledge to teach physics at the Lisa Kampner Hebrew
Academy for twenty years. As a Hungarian Jew, he
recognized the significant function the school performs
as a center for Jewish education, which is a cornerstone
for survival of Judaism in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Teller also tirelessly assisted with fund-raising
efforts for scholarships for needy Lisa Kampner Hebrew
Academy students, as he believed in the promise of every
Jewish child at the academy.
