The Jewish Revolution in San Francisco:
Harav Shneur Kotler zt"l and the Lisa Kampner Hebrew Academy

One of the Torah giants in the United States, Harav Shneur Kotler zt"l was rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, New Jersey, the largest Orthodox yeshiva in America. As chairman of the Rabbinical Administrative Board at Torah Umesorah, the National Society for Hebrew Day Schools, Rabbi Kotler, in 1969, charged Rabbi Pinchas Lipner with the mission of establishing a Torah institution in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rabbi Kotler’s persistence paid handsome dividends, forty-one years later, the Lisa Kampner Hebrew Academy still thrives as a bastion of Torah Judaism.
